Western Union, Roshan launch international mobile money transfer service in Afghanistan

Western Union and Afghanistan-based telecommunications provider Roshan have launched the Western Union Mobile Money Transfer service in Afghanistan.

The agreement adds international remittances to the M-Paisa service introduced by Roshan in November 2008.

Through M-Paisa, registered customers can receive their salaries, pay bills, receive and repay microfinance loans, send and receive money and purchase airtime directly from their mobile phones. With the new service, Roshan’s M-Paisa customers can receive Western Union Money Transfer transactions from abroad in their mobile wallet accounts.

Flash Valet launches mobile payments app for the valet parking industry

Flash Valet, a US provider of mobile management services for the valet parking industry, has launched a mobile payments application for valet parking operators.

Flash Valet enables parking providers to channel communications and payments through mobile phones. The Flash Valet’s cloud-based system allows valet parking providers to track vehicles in real time, manage payroll reports and provide mobile payment services from their mobile devices.

Optimal Payments inks new deal with Lotus F1 Team

UK-based online payment services provider Optimal Payments has entered a new partnership with Lotus F1 Team, a UK Formula One racing team.

Under the terms of the agreement, Optimal Payments has been appointed an official partner of the Lotus F1 Team and will work closely with the company and its partners to create new services for credit card, debit card and alternative methods of payment in a card-not-present environment. The companies have revealed plans to expand its new services across North America, Europe and Asia and beyond for the sale of goods and services via online stores, mail-order/telephone order and automated (IVR) phone channels.
