Western Union launches international business payments service in the Middle East

Global payment services provider Western Union has extended its relationship with Emirates International Exchange, a UAE-based exchange house, to launch its international business payments service, Western Union Business Solutions, in the UAE.

The two organizations have inked a five-year service agreement enabling Western Union to tap into a new customer segment in the Middle East. The Emirates International Exchange in partnership with Western Union intends to provide small- and medium-sized enterprises with services specifically designed to serve corporate needs.

China Telecom launches m-payment feature for eSurfing 3G users

The Beijing branch of Chinese telecom operator China Telecom has reportedly rolled out a mobile payment capability for its eSurfing 3G users, media outlet chinatechnews.com reports.

According to the source, the new capability is expected to enable users to make inquiries about their bank card balances, to pay mobile phone fees and credit card bills, as well as transfer money between bank cards via their mobile phones.
